Accountant by day, Tutor by night

I'm Eunice, an accountant by day and, hopefully, your next study buddy by... well, whenever you need one! 😊 I currently work as an accountant, but teaching has always been something I genuinely enjoy. I have experience working with children and teenagers from around 5 to 16 years old, helping them with Math, English, homework, and general schoolwork. Over the years, I've learned that teaching isn't really about knowing all the answers - it's about knowing how to explain things in a way that makes sense to the person in front of you. I'm naturally patient and I don't mind explaining the same concept in three, four, or even five different ways until that “Aha!” moment happens. I also try to make lessons feel comfortable and conversational, because I believe students learn better when they're not afraid of getting something wrong. Mistakes are part of learning, not something to be embarrassed about. My background in accounting means I'm naturally quite analytical and comfortable with numbers, so Math is definitely one of my strengths. At the same time, I enjoy English and communication, and I'm happy to help students with reading, writing, grammar, comprehension, or simply building their confidence in using English. I can also help with homework and study organization. Sometimes a student doesn't actually need someone to give them the answer - they just need someone to sit with them, break the problem down into smaller pieces, and help them figure out where to start. That's the kind of support I like to provide. Outside of my work, I'm a pretty easygoing and curious person. I enjoy learning new things myself, and I think that makes me appreciate how different everyone's learning journey can be. I want my students to feel that tutoring is something they can look forward to, rather than another stressful obligation. Ultimately, my goal is to help students understand, improve, and become more confident in their own abilities while having a few laughs along the way! 😊
